About the SystemThe timing system consists of a transponder chip fitted to a velcro ankle strap, a timing mat which picks up the transmitted code from the chip and a control box which processes the chip codes and timing information. Attached to the control box is a laptop computer running Racetec live timing software. This allows us to show live results on a flat screen TV during the race and also allows competitors and spectators to interrogate results and splits during the race by typing in their race number on a numeric key pad.
